Integrations
Connect UserLoop Contests to Klaviyo and AI tools through MCP.
Klaviyo Integration
The Klaviyo integration sends a contest event to Klaviyo whenever someone enters a contest. You can use that event to trigger flows, build segments, and follow up with entrants automatically. Klaviyo integration is available on the Pro plan. What Gets Sent When a contest entry is submitted, UserLoop Contests can send Klaviyo an event with contest and entry details, including: - Entrant email - Entrant name, if collected and enabled - Contest ID, title, and slug - Contest start and end dates - Entry ID - Referral code, when available - Total entries - UTM source, medium, and campaign - Referrer - Submission timestamp Connecting Klaviyo 1. Open UserLoop Contests in Shopify admin. 2. Go to Integrations. 3. Expand Klaviyo. 4. Create a Klaviyo private API key in your Klaviyo account. 5. Paste the private API key into UserLoop Contests. 6. Click Connect. After connection, new contest entries will be sent to Klaviyo. Using Contest Events in Klaviyo In Klaviyo, use the contest entry event to: - Trigger a welcome flow for contest entrants. - Segment people by contest title or campaign. - Send winner announcement follow-ups. - Send post-contest offers. - Compare contest acquisition channels using UTM properties. Reconnecting or Disconnecting If the integration shows an error, expand Klaviyo and reconnect with a fresh private API key. To stop sending events, click Disconnect. Disconnecting removes the active Klaviyo connection for the shop. Troubleshooting If events are not appearing in Klaviyo: 1. Confirm your store is on Pro. 2. Confirm Klaviyo shows as connected in Integrations. 3. Submit a new test entry after connecting. Historical entries are not resent automatically. 4. Check that the API key is active in Klaviyo. 5. Reconnect with a new private API key if the integration status shows an error.
MCP Integration
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration lets AI tools connect to UserLoop Contests and manage contest data through a secure URL. Use MCP only with tools and people you trust. MCP access can include both read and write actions for your contests. What MCP Can Do Read tools include: - List contests - Get contest details - Get contest stats - List entries - List winners - Show entries over time Write tools include: - Create a contest - Update contest fields - Change contest status - Add a prize - Select a random winner - Select a manual winner Enabling MCP 1. Open UserLoop Contests in Shopify admin. 2. Go to MCP. 3. Turn on Enable MCP. 4. Copy the generated MCP URL or use one of the install options. The MCP page provides setup options for Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, and generic JSON configuration. API Key Safety Your MCP URL contains an API key. Treat it like a password. - Do not paste it into public tickets, docs, or repositories. - Only add it to trusted AI tools. - Regenerate the URL if you think it was exposed. - Disable MCP when you no longer need it. Regenerating the MCP URL Use Regenerate to revoke existing active keys and create a new MCP URL. Any tools using the old URL will stop working until they are updated. Disabling MCP Turning off MCP revokes active keys for the shop. Connected AI tools will no longer be able to read or change contest data.
