Exporting Data
CSV exports let you download contest entries and winners for spreadsheets, fulfillment, reporting, or external marketing tools. CSV exports are available on the Pro plan. Exporting Entries 1. Open the contest. 2. Go to the Entries tab. 3. Click Export CSV. 4. The export is queued in the background. 5. Open Data exports from the app navigation to track progress and download the file. Entry exports include entrant contact fields, total entries, source data, UTM values, referrer, and submission timestamps. Exporting Winners 1. Open the contest. 2. Go to the Winners tab. 3. Click Export CSV. 4. Open Data exports to download the completed file. Winner exports include winner details, prize details, and selection timestamps. Background Export Jobs Exports run as background jobs so larger contests do not time out inside Shopify admin. Export jobs can be: - Queued — Waiting to start. - Processing — The CSV is being prepared. - Completed — Ready to download. - Failed — Something went wrong; retry the export. - Expired — The download window has passed. Most exports finish quickly, but larger files may take a minute or two. Download Window Completed export files are kept for 7 days. After that, they expire automatically and you will need to create a new export. Retrying Failed Exports If an export fails: 1. Open Data exports. 2. Find the failed job. 3. Click Retry. 4. Wait for the new job to complete. If the retry also fails, contact support with the contest name and export type.
🚀 Getting StartedDashboard Overview
The dashboard is the first screen you see when you open UserLoop Contests. It gives you a snapshot of your contest activity and quick access to everything you need. Setup Guide If you're new to the app, you'll see a setup guide at the top of the dashboard with two steps: 1. Create your first contest — Links to the contest creation page. 2. Get your first entry — Suggests ways to share your contest: copy the link, enable the popup block, or embed a form block. The progress bar shows how far along you are. Once both steps are complete, you can dismiss the guide. Overview Stats Four key metrics are displayed at the top: - Active Contests — Number of contests currently accepting entries. - Total Entries — All-time entry count across all contests. - Entries (30 days) — Entries received in the last 30 days. - Avg. Conversion — The average conversion rate across your contests (entries divided by page views, as a percentage). Theme Integration Status Two status indicators show whether your theme is set up to display contests: - Contest Popup — Shows "Ready" if you have active contests that can be shown as popups. - Form Block — Shows "Ready" if you have active contests available for embedded form blocks. Each links directly to your Shopify theme editor so you can enable the blocks. Recent Contests The bottom section shows your five most recent contests as cards. Each card displays: - Contest title and status badge (Active, Draft, Ended, or Archived) - Entry count - View count (page views from analytics) - Conversion rate - Date range - Last updated time Hover over a contest card to see quick actions: Preview (opens the public contest page) and Edit (goes to the contest detail page). Navigation Use the sidebar to navigate between: - Home — The dashboard (this page) - Contests — Full list of all your contests with filtering and management tools The Create contest button in the page header takes you directly to the contest creation form.
🏆 Entries & WinnersSelecting Winners
The Winners tab is where you select and manage contest winners. How you select winners depends on the method you chose during contest setup. Winner Stats At the top of the Winners tab, you'll see: - Total entries — All entries submitted to this contest - Eligible entries — Entries that haven't already won a prize - Winners selected — How many winners you've picked so far Random Draw If your contest uses the random draw method: 1. Go to the Winners tab. 2. Select which prize to draw a winner for from the dropdown. 3. The available quantity shows how many more winners can be drawn for that prize. 4. Click Draw winner. 5. The system randomly selects an eligible entry and assigns them the prize. How randomization works: - Each eligible entry has a chance proportional to their total entry count. An entry with 3 total entries has three times the chance of being selected compared to an entry with 1. - Entries that have already won the same prize are excluded. - The draw is instant — the winner appears in the winners list immediately. You can draw multiple winners by repeating the process, up to the prize quantity. Manual Selection If your contest uses the manual selection method: 1. Go to the Winners tab. 2. Select which prize to assign from the dropdown. 3. Browse or search the eligible entries list. 4. Click Select next to the entry you want to make a winner. Managing Winners Once winners are selected, you can: Mark as notified After you've contacted the winner (by email, phone, etc.), click Mark notified to record the notification date. This helps you track which winners you've already reached out to. Mark as claimed Once the winner has claimed or received their prize, mark them as claimed. This keeps your records organized. Add notes You can add notes to any winner record — useful for tracking shipping details, communication history, or special arrangements. Remove winner If you need to remove a winner (e.g., they didn't respond, they're ineligible), click Remove. This frees up a prize slot and makes their entry eligible for future draws. Winner Workflow A typical winner management flow: 1. Draw or select winners after the contest ends 2. Contact winners via email or phone 3. Mark as notified to track outreach 4. Fulfill the prize (ship product, send gift card, etc.) 5. Mark as claimed once the winner has received their prize Important Notes - An entry cannot win the same prize twice. - You can select winners at any time — even while the contest is still active. - Removing a winner does not delete their entry; it only removes the winner assignment. - Winner selection data includes: selected date, notified date, claimed date, and the selection method used (random or manual).

📣 Sharing & DistributionPopup Block
The contest popup is a theme block that displays your contest in a modal overlay on your storefront. It's a great way to capture entries from visitors who are already browsing your store. Adding the Popup to Your Theme 1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes. 2. Click Customize on your active theme. 3. In the theme editor, look for the App embeds section (usually in the left sidebar under the paintbrush icon). 4. Find Contest Popup and toggle it on. 5. Select which contest to display using the contest picker. 6. Configure the settings (see below). 7. Click Save. Contest Selection Use the Contest metaobject picker (app-owned) to choose which active contest the popup should display. Only active contests appear in the picker. If no contest is selected, the popup won't render. If this block was configured before app-owned metaobject migration, the Contest (Legacy) picker remains available and will continue to work. Trigger Settings Control when the popup appears: Trigger type: - Time delay (default) — Popup appears after a set number of seconds. Configure the delay from 1 to 60 seconds (default: 5 seconds). - Scroll percentage — Popup appears when the visitor scrolls to a certain point on the page. Set from 10% to 100% (default: 50%). - Exit intent — Popup appears when the visitor moves their cursor toward the browser's close/back button, signaling they may leave. Frequency Settings Control how often the popup appears to the same visitor: - Once per visitor — Shows once, then never again (uses local storage). - Once per session (default) — Shows once per browser session. - Once per day — Shows once every 24 hours. - Always — Shows on every qualifying page load. Remember when dismissed: When enabled (default: on), if a visitor closes the popup, it won't show again regardless of the frequency setting. Or target specific page types: - Homepage (default: on) - Product pages (default: on) - Collection pages (default: on) - Cart page (default: off) When "Show on all pages" is disabled, only the individually checked page types will show the popup. Display Options Toggle what content appears in the popup: - Show contest title (default: on) - Show description (default: on) Prizes, dates, terms visibility, button text, and success message are controlled from the contest's Design tab. Style Settings Popup colors, CTA text, and success message are inherited from the contest's Design tab. Popup-specific style options: - Popup style — Choose between Centered modal (default full-screen overlay) and Bottom-right slide-in (less intrusive desktop card) - Overlay color — The dimmed background behind the popup - Popup width — 300px to 600px (default: 450px) - Border radius — 0px to 24px (default: 8px) — controls how rounded the popup corners are
